Requirements

• Execution-Focused Leadership: Skilled in managing both personal and team-led capture efforts with a hands-on approach to ensure quality and timeliness
• Data and Process Management: Experienced in leveraging research and analytics to inform capture decisions and manage pipeline workflows
• Strong Communication: Effective in articulating strategies and collaborating with internal teams, including clear communication of strategic themes to proposal teams
• Results-Oriented: Prioritizes impactful results and aligns team efforts to achieve organizational goals
• Deep understanding of the SLED capture processes and demonstrated experience leading such efforts. Federal knowledge is a plus
• Displayed capacity to excel in ambitious, fast-paced environments, effectively managing competing priorities and driving initiatives to fruition independently
• Familiarity with CRM systems for data management and reporting, and other relevant software to enhance the efficiency of the capture process
• Experience with GovWin and other government research and procurement tools
• Interact effectively with all levels of management, staff, and internal and external stakeholders
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively communicating across diverse audiences
• Strategic, quick-thinker, self-starter, proactive, responsive, and able to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data sets to determine trends, establish strategies, and make decisions
• Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to multitask and be strategic, creative, and innovative in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
• Proven ability to “surge” the level of effort in times of need (i.e. when the company helps its clients manage through a disaster, emergency, or other crisis)

• Ability to diagnose and address and/or promptly report issues needing escalation
• Ability to forecast budgets and staffing
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.)
• A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or English is required; Master’s preferred
• 5+ years of experience in capture management or business development in government contracting (emphasis on state and local), with hands-on project management experience
• 5+ years of direct team leadership experience
• Proven ability to manage, coach, and lead a diverse team, including capture professionals and research/CRM specialists
• Strong understanding of government acquisition processes and compliance standards

Responsibilities

• Directly manage select capture pursuits, overseeing team members and managing other opportunities to ensure cohesive execution, win strategies, and win theme messaging
• Lead a team responsible for pipeline tracking, research, and data analysis to inform capture strategies and maintain an organized CRM
• Develop and package key content and positioning for each pursuit, preparing it for transition to the proposal team when the RFP is released
• Provide feedback on proposals to ensure consistent messaging, tone, and integration of win themes, ensuring alignment with the initial capture strategy
• Facilitate collaboration across internal teams, coaching capture team members to enhance skills and support their professional growth
