Summary

Join IntelliShift as their Director of Hardware Engineering and lead a team focused on devices supporting the IntelliShift Platform. You will be instrumental in shaping the company's device strategy, building new devices, or collaborating with device partners to deliver a best-in-class solution. This full-time, remote, US-based position involves occasional travel. Responsibilities include defining and executing product vision, collaborating with the executive team, crafting long-term hardware strategies, managing a team of engineers, and working with external vendors. Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience
  • Deeply involved in the development and portfolio management for various asset trackers and AI Dash Cameras
  • 8+ years as a hardware product leader
  • Technical, understanding the intricacies of decisions that are made that impact hardware, firmware, and software to balance tradeoffs and support innovation
  • Working closely with ODM’s and other vendors to ensure quality hardware and firmware
  • Created and delivered high-impact product strategies and have brought successful products to market
  • Consistently developed fresh approaches to hardware development by starting from the basics and thinking creatively rather than just following existing models
  • To succeed in your role, staying hands on and getting into the details is critical

Responsibilities

  • Define, communicate and execute the product vision to build a compelling device strategy that aligns to the goals of IntelliShift
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align product goals with overall business objectives
  • Craft the long-term strategy and lead execution of strategic initiatives as it relates to hardware
  • Work closely with external hardware vendors suppliers
  • Manage a group of internal Hardware Engineers, Vehicle Data Engineers and Hardware QA Team
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a world-class team with a focus on growth
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Develop detailed hardware and firmware specifications to external hardware vendors, internal Hardware Engineers and QA team
  • Work closely with our software Product Management team to understanding of our customers’ wants and needs to enable a world-class customer experience delivered through the IntelliShift hardware
  • Work with leaders cross-functionally to plan and execute strategic initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

Asset tracking & AI Dash Camera experience is a plus
