Director of Legal

Join Versapay as their Director of Legal and integrate deep legal expertise with strategic leadership to mitigate risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide information decision-making. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be involved in all legal and compliance operations, including contract negotiations, privacy and compliance matters, and entity management. The ideal candidate is a dynamic legal strategist with expertise in technology, privacy, and regulatory compliance, thriving in fast-paced environments. Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction within the US
• 3+ years of legal experience, preferably in technology or software-related environments

Responsibilities

• Lead Contract Negotiations: draft, review, and negotiate contracts including software licensing, vendor, and partnership agreements
• Support Compliance Initiatives: assisting in the development, implementation, and updating of internal policies and procedures
• Provide Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, finance, engineering) to evaluate and address legal risks associated with products and services
• Identify and Remediate Risk: Proactively identify potential legal issues and propose innovative, practical solutions
• Drive Efficiency: Assist in streamlining legal processes and contributing to continuous improvement within the legal department
