Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in program development and management, with a focus on transportation or environmental sectors
  • Extensive knowledge of Medium & Heavy Duty transportation systems, zero-emission technologies, and related policies
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding and managing large-scale projects
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Commitment to environmental sustainability and clean transportation innovation

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of programs focused on the adoption of zero-emission MHD trucks
  • Collaborate with internal teams, industry stakeholders, and government agencies to design and launch initiatives that align with CALSTART's mission and goals
  • Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to inform program strategy and development
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new funding opportunities from federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as private sector and philanthropic sources in partnership with CALSTART's Business Development Team
  • Develop comprehensive proposals, grant applications, and other funding requests to support program growth
  • Manage relationships with funders, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and successful program delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, government officials, and nonprofit organizations
  • Represent CALSTART at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote the organization's programs and initiatives
  • Facilitate collaborations between public and private sector partners to advance the adoption of zero-emission MHD trucks
  • Build and maintain Incentive admin and internal processing capabilities
  • Manage Incentive processing portfolio of $1B+ dollars
  • Develop lean operation processes to reduce operational waste
  • Lead and mentor a team of program managers and other staff, providing guidance and support in program execution and professional growth
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages the sharing of ideas and best practices
  • Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of program outcomes to ensure alignment with organizational goals and funder expectations
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership, funders, and stakeholders on program progress and impact
