Director, Software Development

Join Galileo, a leading financial technology company, as a Director of Engineering to spearhead the technical strategy, development, and execution of our Digital Banking Framework and Platform. This impactful leadership role involves building foundational infrastructure for our customer-facing experiences. You will drive the design and delivery of scalable, performant, and secure digital products, managing multiple teams and aligning cross-functional stakeholders. The position requires attracting, retaining, and developing top engineering talent while fostering a culture of excellence and customer-centricity. You will manage remote engineering teams and ensure reliable, secure, and scalable engineering practices. Success in this role will be measured by improved time-to-market metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent experience
• 10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years of proven experience in leadership roles, preferably within mobile and web domain, including backend
• Deep expertise in designing and managing cloud-based solutions with a strong focus on resiliency
• Strong understanding of agile development principles and tools
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams
• Experience with AWS (or other public cloud infra) and modern mobile stacks
• Bi-Lingual Spanish/English is required

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and delivery execution
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering leaders to align platform work with business needs
• Ensure the platform supports rapid product development across dozens of different customer programs while maintaining quality, compliance, and operational excellence
• Attract, retain, and develop top-tier engineering talent
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and customer-centric thinking
• Manage multiple remote engineering teams across platform and framework domains
• Ensure reliable, secure, and scalable engineering practices
• Measure and improve time-to-market metrics

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a regulated industry, such as finance, is a plus
