Summary

Tidal Basin is expanding its Federal Disaster Recovery Cadre to help communities rebuild following natural or man-made disasters. The position involves deploying to disaster sites, inspecting damaged facilities, managing the Public Assistance Program, and providing technical expertise. Candidates must be willing and able to deploy up to 100%, obtain/maintain/transfer a DHS/FEMA Clearance and badge, and pass FEMA security training, Grants Manager training, and either a PDMG or Site Inspector training class.

Requirements

  • Pass FEMA security training, Grants Manager training, and either a PDMG or Site Inspector training class

Responsibilities

  • Deploy to disaster sites as a Site Inspector, Engineer, PDMG, or Technical Specialist
  • Inspect permanent facilities damaged by disasters to determine and document the extent of disaster related damages
  • Deliver the Public Assistance Program and assist eligible applicants and sub-applicants
  • Provide technical expertise to FEMA for a variety of tasks or efforts
  • Advise FEMA staff on the technical validity of claims presented under FEMA’s arbitration process and testify as an expert witness on FEMA’s behalf
