Summary

Join CannonDesign's multi-disciplinary team as an Electrical Engineer, working under a licensed engineer on diverse projects spanning educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors. You will perform construction drawings and specifications, design electrical systems, analyze engineering documents, participate in value engineering sessions, apply electrical code knowledge, and recommend improvements. Conduct job site visits to verify conditions and observe progress. This role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, minimum 4 years of experience, and proficiency in engineering design programs like Revit. The salary range is $67,346-$81,211 annually, with potential for bonuses and a full benefits package.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering required
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience required
  • Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit) required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic to moderately complex construction drawings and specifications of electrical engineering systems for building construction
  • Under limited supervision, design lighting, power distribution, communications and/or telecommunication systems for healthcare, education/higher education and commercial clients, including fire alarm systems
  • Analyze engineering documents and layout systems in regard to components and parts. Research and respond to design issues
  • Participate in value engineering sessions with Architectural/Engineering team
  • Apply knowledge of electrical code for the application of building power distribution design and circuiting
  • Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and to streamline production efforts
  • Assists in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals
  • Assists in gathering information to respond to RFI’s and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents
  • Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site
  • May perform other related tasks as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred
  • EIT/FE preferred
  • LEED accreditation preferred
