Requirements

  • Minimum of one (3) year working in a construction field electrician in a camp environment
  • Certified Journeyman Electrician (Red Seal) required
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work a rotation schedule
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Able to walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor
  • Ability to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 - 12 hour shift

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical components
  • Testing circuits and connections using electrical test equipment
  • Inspecting equipment and ensuring proper maintenance and repairs are completed, while adhering to timelines and budget restrictions
  • Responsible for ordering electrical parts
  • Preparation and site clean-up, including rubbish removal
  • Proficient with building code regulations as it relates to worksite building electrical assembly and repairs
  • Assist in the completion of all necessary documentation as per process / protocol to ensure cost effectiveness and budget allocation
  • Provide quality workmanship consistent with industry standards and stakeholder expectations
  • Understand the basics of reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Participate in daily Toolbox meetings and support monthly work-site inspections
  • Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures
  • Notify Manager of unsafe practices and unsafe environment
  • Report all incidents and accidents immediately
  • Actively participate as a high performing, team member
