Embedded Software Engineering Intern

Summary

Join our team as an Embedded Software Engineering Intern and gain hands-on experience in firmware engineering. You'll develop real-time firmware code for head-disk interface spacing control and manufacturing firmware to optimize control parameters.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a full-time college student pursuing a BS/MS in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or a related field
• Expected to graduate between December 2025 - December 2026 preferred
• Right to work in the US without requiring Western Digital to commence or sponsor an immigration case in order to employ you at any point in the future required
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python or other relevant languages
• Demonstrated expertise or course knowledge in structured code development and debugging
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a multi-site agile development team

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug firmware for Hard Disk Drives that uses industry-standard tools and customized processes to deliver value to our customers, as part of a local team
• Develop firmware features that increase device capacity while improving reliability performance and cost
