Embedded System Engineer

Summary

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in embedded software using C, C++, Rust or similar
• Inherent understanding of real-time, low latency software development
• Experience with wireless IoT processors using BLE, Thread, Zigbee, Wi-Fi
• Python and mobile software software development experience for rapid prototyping, proving out new features from device to backend, and making in-house tools
• Experience with algorithms (traditional and NN) for multi-sensor acquisition, classification, processing and transmission
• Experience building systems for QA and QC automation

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and enhancement of existing products, as well as establishing new codebases and framework for future system designs
• Bringing up new hardware, evaluating and integrating new sensors, components and technologies
• Algorithm development for various sensor signals, both traditional and edge NN based
• Working across several layers from firmware to backend to improve our existing architecture, and to take part in creating new systems
• Seeking ways to automate, both in software and using electro-mechanical design
• Create tools that provide on-going and live data visualization, useful insights and analysis at every turn

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience employing scripted language interpreters embedded systems (micropython, LUA) is a plus
• Experience designing hardware (schematic and pcb layout) is a plus
• A demonstrated track record of novel, creative results, coupled with strong engineering discipline
