Summary

Join our team as an Emergency Management Consultant at Tidal Basin, a professional consulting services firm specializing in emergency and disaster management. As a key member of the Resilience, Mitigation and Policy business unit, you will support ongoing and new planning efforts, deliver services to clients, and contribute to our teams.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills to express complex and technical concepts clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster strong client and team relationships
  • Understanding of emergency management concepts and principles
  • Training and exercise experience to include support design and development, controlling and evaluating, and after-action report writing
  • Working knowledge of general project or program management principles
  • Conducting and supporting webinars and conference calls through online tools and resources
  • Advanced user of Microsoft products, Adobe Pro, and other technical programs needed to perform work

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team, supports Project Manager and clients by developing deliverables, completing tasks as assigned, and providing subject matter knowledge
  • Responsible for the implementation of work under the direction of the Project Manager to ensure task milestones, schedules, and requirements are met and ensures timely, cost-effective program delivery and objectives
  • Develops products, support scheduling and arrangement of facilities, equipment and resources and supports other efforts to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of objectives
  • Conducts research, prepares reports, develops meeting minutes or writeups, and may format and edit final deliverables for the team before distribution to clients
  • Utilizes the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) principles to support development and delivery of exercises to test and assess client’s emergency plans and procedures
  • Provides meeting and event logistics/support (e.g. meeting setup, notes, material development, etc.)
  • Participates in briefings, conferences, webinars, client meetings, and other meetings as requested by clients, the project manager, or executive leadership
  • Develop or update any internal documents and products as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
