You will draft and review employment agreements, develop policies and procedures, advise HR teams, and ensure legal compliance. Requirements
- 5+ years of full-time legal experience as an employment attorney in (i) an in-house legal department, and/or (ii) a law firm
- Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of employment related agreements, as well as developing employment related policies and procedures
- Experience counseling stakeholders regarding critical employment related decisions
- Service-oriented and responsive attitude, strong attention to detail, hard-working and committed to providing excellent work product
- Ability to work independently and own projects, but with full recognition of areas of limitation and need for support/guidance (honesty and humility requiredβit is how we operate and grow at Axonius!)
- Ability to reside and work full-time in the United States
- JD (or equivalent degree) and current Bar admission (or equivalent registration)
Responsibilities
- Drafting and reviewing various employment related agreements such as Offer letters, Proprietary Information and Inventions Assignment Agreements (PIIAAs), Consulting Agreements, Separation Agreements and more
- Counseling Company stakeholders, including members of the executive leadership team, regarding employment-related decisions and questions
- Developing and maintaining Company-wide policies, procedures and trainings regarding various employment related topics
- Supporting Company corporate transactions from a labor and employment perspective
- Keeping current with various federal, state and local laws and regulations to ensure that the Company remains compliant and up to date
- Working with and managing outside counsel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with high-growth startup companies, either in a law firm or in-house
- Experience with compensation and benefits matters, including commission plans and equity incentive plans
- Experience with employment-related investigations and/or litigation
- Experience with US relocations and immigration related matters
