Requirements

  • Likely to have 2+ years of web and/or software development experience with Ruby on Rails and AWS, or a similar technology stack
  • Experienced with automated testing frameworks for efficient and reliable code verification
  • Skilled in dynamic, public-facing web applications
  • Proven track record in managing and delivering multiple projects over time
  • Familiar with key components of a large-scale web stack, including UNIX, web servers, proxies, load balancers, and both SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Knowledgeable in server-side and client-side programming languages, along with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Understands back-end and front-end performance optimization and scaling strategies
  • Communicates effectively within the team, actively participates in feedback loops, and strives to deliver stakeholder-driven functionality
  • Demonstrates a proactive commitment to continuous improvement, regularly seeking feedback and opportunities to enhance processes skills, and outcomes
  • Upholds integrity and transparency, embodying Envato’s core values in all interactions and project work

Responsibilities

  • Understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Write high-quality, testable code, often using Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Follow established development processes, design principles, and frequent version control practices
  • Make incremental improvements with continuous integration and deployments
  • Regularly deploy code to production, taking responsibility for verifying functionality
  • Support and troubleshoot production systems, including on-call rotation for handling outages
  • Conduct peer reviews to ensure code quality within the team
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and independently deliver on development tasks
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance processes, problem-solve, and promote team harmony
  • Approach solutions sustainably, considering multiple perspectives and long-term impacts
