Summary

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development North America, Inc. is seeking a graduate or undergraduate student in battery chemistry or material science for a 6-month internship at their Farmington Hills, Michigan office. The intern will support battery research efforts by performing tasks such as materials evaluation, developing test procedures, data analysis, and reporting technology trends.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree in the following fields: Chemistry, Material Science or closely related field
• 0-3 years of experience required
• Some lab experience required
• Good communication skills
• Experience with battery technology
• Analytical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Support and carry out materials and battery cell evaluation tasks
• Draft improved or new battery test procedures
• Ensure updated documentation of activities
• Maintenance of team intranet resources
• Plan and perform electrochemical characterization of materials and cells
• Research and report technology trends
