Requirements
- 2+ years experience in engineering leadership or mentoring position (Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, Engineering Manager), 5+ years software engineering experience
- Proven ability to drive process improvements, technical innovation, team efficiency, and code quality
- Ability to balance management responsibilities with direct technical contribution
- Comfortable and enthusiastic about AI coding tools and emerging technologies
- Comfortable managing a remote team
- Proficient in modern web technologies for both back-end and front-end (Next, Typescript, React, Apollo)
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 4-6 engineers, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment while providing mentorship and career growth opportunities, empowering engineers to do their best work
- Work closely with the Tech Lead and Product Manager to align engineering efforts with squad goals and roadmap, managing work load and capacity of engineers on the team
- Facilitate team cohesion by participating in code reviews, technical specification discussions, and engineering syncs
- Collaborate with the Tech Lead and Engineering Director to ensure best practices, technical standards, and engineering excellence
- Directly contribute to code (~50% of the time), taking ownership of development tasks while supporting the teamβs workload
Preferred Qualifications
- The current stack includes NextJS, Typescript, React, Feathers, and NodeJS, and proficiency with these technologies is highly advantageous
- This team's product heavily utilizes LLM chains, making prior experience with AI chain integration or AI teams a valuable asset
