Summary

Join Place Exchange, a company transforming the out-of-home (OOH) advertising channel, as an Engineering Manager. You will collaborate with Product & Operations teams to connect OOH advertising assets with programmatic ad tech platforms. This role requires leadership in building and optimizing engineering practices, managing and mentoring a team, and contributing hands-on to product development. Responsibilities are split between product delivery and technical implementation (50%), staff and organizational development (25%), and partner management (25%). The ideal candidate possesses 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience, 1+ year leading teams, and a passion for agile engineering practices. Requirements

  • Have 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience with a track record of building and operating distributed systems at scale
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams and individuals
  • Adopt a startup mindset by prioritizing speed and iterationโ€”guide your team in striking the right balance between rapid delivery and quality, depending on the context
  • Passion and expertise in agile engineering practices and building DevOps culture
  • Strong capabilities of observation, analysis, synthesis

Responsibilities

  • Work with Product and executive stakeholders to build market-leading products
  • Implement product features, driving technical and quality practices
  • Implement and/or build tools to improve Testing, Deployment, Automation
  • Develop and evangelize standards for coding, data, tooling, operations
  • Recruit, retain, and grow outstanding engineering talent
  • Proactively identify skill and experience needs, recruiting or developing staff to fill
  • Work with each engineer, to provide continuous feedback, and support growth
  • Partner Evangelism, Integration, Testing, and Support
  • Drive creation of appropriate technical documentation
  • Drive processes for discovering, managing, and resolving issues and incidents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to attract, grow, and retain top engineering talent in fast-paced, high-growth settings
  • Experience managing products and teams across multiple locations/timezones
  • Experience working with offshore teams
  • Experience working with demand side platforms (DSP) and supply side platforms (SSP)
  • BA/BS in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
