Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of engineering management experience and 8+ years overall in software engineering
- Proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in modern backend (e.g., Clojure is a bonus) and/or frontend frameworks (e.g., React, TypeScript)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience delivering complex projects from idea to production while balancing speed and quality
- Passion for coaching and growing engineers at all levels
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of software engineers, providing mentorship, feedback, and career development support
- Partner with Product and Design teams to shape technical roadmaps and deliver high-impact features on time
- Ensure software quality through modern engineering practices like CI/CD, code reviews, and testing
- Collaborate with fellow Engineering Managers and Tech Leads to improve engineering processes, system architecture, and team health
- Own team rituals (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) to maintain velocity and alignment
- Support hiring efforts by contributing to the recruiting process, helping to build a diverse and inclusive engineering team
- Foster a culture of psychological safety, trust, and continuous improvement
