Summary
Join Zelh, a rapidly growing outsourcing company, as an Engineering Manager leading the European team and temporarily overseeing North American engineers. You will mentor and grow a team of mobile, backend, and full-stack developers, facilitating agile ceremonies and ensuring high-quality, on-time project delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, acting as the primary technical contact for the Eastern European team. Requirements
- Proven Experience: 5+ years in software development with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role (e.g., Tech Lead, Engineering Manager)
- Strong Technical Acumen: While not expected to be the primary coder, you must have a strong enough technical background to understand complex architectural challenges, guide technical discussions, and mentor developers
- People-First Mentality: A genuine passion for helping engineers grow and succeed
- Exceptional Communication: Fluent in English and able to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Agile Expertise: Deep understanding and practical experience with agile development methodologies
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of mobile, backend, and full-stack developers in a co-located office environment
- Conduct regular one-on-ones with team members to support their career growth and well-being
- Work closely with the CTO and the executive team to understand product requirements and translate them into a technical roadmap
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) to ensure the team is aligned and productive focused on work that aligns with their skillset
- Identify and remove any technical or organizational roadblocks for the team
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality, on-time results. PR reviews
- Develop a deep and comprehensive understanding of infrastructure and architecture in place to facilitate quick onboarding of new team members
- Bring insights and technology recommendations that will enhance broader team productivity (i.e. CI/CD, testing, alerting, other automations)
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for the Eastern European team
- Ensure seamless communication and collaboration with the US-based frontend developer, the developer in Spain, and the executive team
- Initially, oversee the work and priorities of the US and Spain-based developer, ensuring alignment with the broader teamโs goals. This will require flexible hours and excellent asynchronous communication skills
