Engineering Manager Data Platform

Summary

The job is for an Engineering Manager on the Data Platform team at Mural, responsible for leading the team in building and maintaining a robust data platform, developing a technical roadmap, guiding project execution, fostering career development opportunities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Computer Science or related field, proven experience in data engineering, proficiency in programming languages, and familiarity with data engineering tools and platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong understanding of data infrastructure, data architecture and ETL processes
• Prior experience in a data technical leadership or management role, with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, SQL, as well as experience with data engineering technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS and Azure, and their data storage services
• Familiarity with data engineering tools and platforms such as Databricks, Astronomer, Fivetran, Segment

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a technical roadmap for the data platform, aligning with the organization's goal and future needs
• Lead and mentor a team of experienced data engineers, providing guidance, support and technical expertise
• Oversee the execution of projects related to data platform development, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
