Requirements

  • Minimum Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Public Health, or related field
  • Proficient knowledge of epidemiological principles and statistical analysis methods
  • Proficient knowledge of concepts, principles, methods, and techniques of administering public health programs
  • Proficient knowledge of survey design, administration, and evaluation
  • Basic understanding of systems and procedures necessary for surveillance and investigation of infectious and chronic diseases
  • Proficient understanding of database software (MS Access) and statistical analysis software (R, SAS, SPSS, GIS)
  • Experience assisting in the design, conduct, and evaluation of epidemiologic studies and field investigations

Responsibilities

  • Performs data activities dealing with the collection and analysis of surveillance activities, epidemiology, and survey data for COVID-19 and other emerging infectious diseases and conditions of public health significance as allowable by funding source
  • Development of questionnaires or data collection tools to facilitate a standardized collection of data reports
  • Drafting of statistical reports
  • Performs statistical analyses of data sets using analytic tools e.g. SAS, SPSS, etc
  • Presents quality data sets and reports findings by using visual tools i.e. graphs, charts, and maps
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive data sets and reports
  • Use of database and track systems to manage data collection, data entry, and analysis of surveillance programs
  • Monitors and evaluates data collection procedures to ensure that quality control measures are sustained
