Requirements

  • Admitted to practice law in Maryland and in good standing with the Maryland Supreme Court
  • 3 plus years of experience practicing trusts and estates law
  • Demonstrate client relationship skills and the ability to lead client meetings
  • Ability to develop strategic business relationships leading to new business opportunities
  • Possess strong academic credentials and excellent research, writing and communication skills and have the ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Be client and detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in a full range of services including estate and tax planning, family succession planning, business succession planning, charitable planning, pre- and post-marital agreements, administration of estates and trusts, resolution of disputes among family members, litigation in connection with the administration of an estate or trust, and disability planning
  • Development and implementation of estate plans through wills, trusts, financial powers of attorney, appointment of health agents and medical advance directives
  • Draft both basic and sophisticated estate planning documents, including those which incorporate estate and income tax planning
  • Administer probate estates, including the preparation and submission of required filings with the Orphans’ Courts and Registers of Wills

Preferred Qualifications
