Experience Designer I

Summary

Mint Mobile is seeking an Experience Designer I to join their Marketing Team in Costa Mesa, CA. The role involves collaborating with various teams to design and optimize user experiences for mobile web platforms. The candidate should have a degree or certification in Graphic/Web Design, User Experience Design, or Human-Computer Interaction Design, and 3+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design for e-commerce brands.

Requirements

• Degree or Certification in Graphic/Web Design, User Experience Design, or Human-Computer Interaction Design
• 3+ years of professional experience with User Experience and User Interface design on (mobile) web pages and digital marketing for e-commerce (D2C brands preferred)
• Ability to empathize with and solve a user’s needs and/or pain points
• Knowledge of visual and user-centered design principles
• Knowledge of modern UI patterns, elements, interactions, and responsive web design
• Ability to articulate the 'why' of design decisions, and provide a rationale, and a POV
• Experience with the conception, designing, and implementation of final artwork into a visual product
• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to create rapid prototypes and wireframes demonstrating flows, transitions, etc
• Strong portfolio with examples of functional website designs
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with a variety of team members
• Strong time management skills for working on and meeting deadlines
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Ability to handle multiple small to large projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of E-commerce best practices
• Understanding of ADA compliance

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Designers, Copywriters, Developers, Project Managers, UXR, the XD Sr. CD, and your XD Lead to ensure adherence to business requirements and specifications
• Conceptualize, design, and optimize user experiences for Mint and Ultra (mobile) web platforms
• Create rough sketches, user flows, wireframe layouts, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes that visualize concepts and provide an accurate, graphical user interface representation
• Implement new processes in workflow and help to establish new processes
• Close information gaps to provide clarification and/or ladder up issues as they arise
• Present your work and ideas to the team and key stakeholders
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments, tools, competitive and complementary products, and experiences
• Deliver quality work that is accurate and on schedule
