Experienced Programmer

Summary

Join Electric Square's Malta studio as an Experienced Programmer and contribute to the development of AAA console games. You will design, develop, test, and implement game systems and code, collaborating with designers and artists. This role requires proficiency in C/C++, several years of experience in the video game industry, and experience with console or mobile programming. You will mentor junior programmers and participate in code reviews. Requirements

• Proficient in C/C++ with a minimum of 4 years of experience
• 3 years of experience working in the video games industry
• 2 years of experience in console or mobile programming
• Worked on at least 1 shipped game

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, write, test, and implement systems and game code
• Work with designers, artists, and other personnel involved in the development process to create the highest possible quality product
• Help develop technical design specifications and implement them
• Test and refine gameplay features throughout the development cycle of the project
• Estimate own tasks and deliver high-quality code to that schedule
• Mentor code team, passing on experience and expertise, and lead by example
• Perform code reviews with the team to ensure code quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of industry standard development practices: source control, asset pipelines, issue tracking, external QA and localisation teams
• Exposure to post-launch on-going product development and delivery
• Continuous integration and build automation experience
• Worked in an Agile development environment
• Experience with art packages and pipeline development
• Experience with low-level optimisation, shader programming, physics or mathematics
• Understanding and experience of cloud server and network backend systems
