Requirements

  • A commitment to the mission and values of the Raspberry Pi Foundation
  • Eligibility to work in Kenya
  • An experienced manager and leader, with the ability to build diverse teams and support them to do great work; ideally you will have experience of managing remote teams
  • Good commercial and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and develop opportunities, negotiate contracts and build partnerships
  • An entrepreneurial approach, with experience of taking a programme or organisation to scale
  • A track record of delivering learning experiences and products, ideally focused on young people
  • A passion for β€” and understanding of β€” computing education, STEM education, or related subjects; while you don’t need to be a computer scientist or engineer, you will need to be comfortable with this type of content and genuinely interested in learning more
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion, including experience of addressing issues of educational inequity and disadvantage
  • Experience and deep understanding of the Kenyan education system, with strong networks in the Kenyan education, government and technology ecosystem
  • Good data and analytical skills, and the ability to use data effectively to improve what we do

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the Foundation's strategy and priorities for advancing our mission in Kenya, addressing both formal education and non-formal learning
  • Coordinate the establishment of Raspberry Pi Foundation operations in Kenya including entity, finance and governance set up, working in close collaboration with the RPF operations team
  • Engage with the education ecosystem, ensuring that the Foundation understands and is influencing computing education policy and is proactively engaging with relevant networks and organisations
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase the reach and impact of the Foundation's products in Kenya
  • Manage the delivery of programmes and partnerships in Kenya, ensuring the target outcomes are achieved
  • Support the development and implementation of M&E plans. Use data and feedback to ensure quality and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure that all programmes and partnerships implement our commitments to accessibility, inclusion, and safeguarding, and that we are prioritising impact for underserved and educationally disadvantaged people and communities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Foundation to develop and improve products, and share learnings
  • Build, lead, and manage a highly skilled team, providing them with the clarity and support to enable them to do great work
  • Effective Kenya budget management
  • Report on progress to key funders, working in collaboration with the Managing Director
  • Represent the Raspberry Pi Foundation externally
