Field Readiness Engineer

Summary

Join Vercel as a Senior Field Enablement Engineer and Technical Trainer! Develop and deliver technical training to field teams on the Vercel platform, ensuring they effectively communicate its value to enterprise customers. Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to keep training materials current. Assess training impact and adapt programs accordingly. Partner with Sales Engineering to incorporate field team feedback into product improvements. Support field teams in developing value engineering strategies. This role requires strong JavaScript and modern web development skills and at least 3 years of experience in technical training or enablement.

Requirements

• Be committed to the continuous learning and development of field teams, with a focus on enhancing their technical sales capabilities
• Possess strength in distilling complex technical information into clear, actionable content for non-technical audiences
• Have experience managing training programs, creating content, and meeting the dynamic needs of a field team
• Possess technical skills grounded in practical experience, ideally from a background in software development or technical sales
• Be knowledgeable about the broader tech ecosystem and be able to incorporate this into training for a well-rounded perspective
• Have experience focused on web performance and understanding of network architecture and security
• Have at least 3 years of experience in a role involving technical training or enablement for a field team

Responsibilities

• Develop training content and programs specific to the needs of the field team, focusing on Vercel’s platform and products
• Deliver training sessions that are informative and practical, ensuring field team members can apply what they learn in customer engagements
• Create resources such as knowledge guides, case studies and best practice job aids to support the field’s ongoing development
• Work with Product and Engineering to stay up-to-date with product developments and reflect these in the training programs
• Assess the impact of training on field performance and adapt programs as needed
• Partner with Sales Engineering leaders to represent the field team’s feedback to our Product and Engineering teams to inform future product improvements
• Support field teams in the development of value engineering strategies to support the sales and renewals process

Preferred Qualifications

• Have direct experience with deploying Next.js applications
• Have worked on teams using Kubernetes to host Next.js applications
• Hold certifications such as Cloud Solutions Architect
• Have a Sales Engineering Background
• Have familiarity with industry standards such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2 from a technical standpoint
• Have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
