Field Service Engineer

Summary

Join our team as a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing complex imaging devices. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot clinical systems, and provide technical guidance to customers. This role requires extensive travel, on-call availability, and the ability to work independently. You will also handle administrative tasks, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with safety regulations. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an electro-mechanical field is required, along with hands-on experience in servicing medical equipment. Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an electro-mechanical field
• Have previous biomedical, x-ray fundamentals, electronics, or computer technology training
• Possess the ability to grasp new product technology with minimal formal training, using technical publications and maintenance procedures
• Demonstrate a high aptitude to thoroughly understand complex systems
• Have previous experience in servicing complex electronic and electromechanical systems in the medical field
• Have two or more years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining biomedical, clinical, and/or X-ray diagnostic imaging equipment
• Be capable of operating all test equipment and instrumentation related to the job (oscilloscope, diagnostic testers, RF measurement equipment, etc.)
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills; be comfortable presenting to senior management
• Possess proficient analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Be able and willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to rent a car for service travel purposes
• Be able to do heavy lifting (50 lbs or more)
• Be willing to travel extensively

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex imaging devices
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on customer-owned equipment within an assigned territory
• Install, de-install, and relocate equipment, including packing, unpacking, and inspection of new products
• Complete and submit expense reports, parts requisitions, installation reports, service reports, customer complaint reports, and other assigned reports
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex clinical systems
• Maintain assigned tools, test equipment, instrumentation, calibration records, and technical spares
• Perform on-call standby duty and travel as required
• Work unscheduled and odd hours on occasion and on short notice
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to customers as required
• Perform final calibration, compliance testing, and applications training as required for customer acceptance
• Adhere to and ensure compliance with safety policies and good manufacturing practices
• Inspire total customer confidence in abilities to resolve technical problems
