Summary

Join Augmenta, a fast-growing startup revolutionizing building design with cutting-edge AI tools, as their Accounting/Finance Manager. Reporting to the VP of Finance & Operations, you will manage day-to-day financial operations, month-end consolidation, budget updates, and ensure compliance for Canadian and U.S. operations. This hands-on role requires a CPA certification, minimum 3 years of experience in financial management and accounting, and strong accounting principles understanding. You will be responsible for managing accounting activities, overseeing tax reporting, maintaining payroll and benefits, serving as a primary contact for internal teams, ensuring compliance, assisting with budget monitoring, supporting year-end close activities, and implementing process improvements.

Requirements

  • CPA certification required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial management and accounting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations, with the ability to analyze and refine financial processes
  • An in-depth knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards and curiosity about their application in a SaaS context
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Docs

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting activities, including journal entries, credit card transactions, cash management, accounts receivable/payable, and financial reconciliations
  • Oversee Canadian and U.S. state tax reporting, ensuring compliance with all regulations
  • Maintain payroll and benefits records, ensuring timely and accurate processing through third-party providers
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal teams regarding invoicing, supplier reporting, bill payments, and cash receipts
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards (ASPE), revenue recognition principles, and Canadian/U.S. tax laws
  • Assist the VP in monitoring departmental, project, and organizational budgets
  • Support fiscal year-end close activities, including preparation for external audits
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations through technology
  • Handle select administrative tasks such as data gathering, tax registrations, and compliance reporting
  • Take on additional duties as needed in a fast-growing technology business

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SaaS technology accounting is considered an asset
