Finance Associate

Summary

Join our team as a Finance Associate and support the financial operations of a growing network of restaurant merchants. This fully remote role (9 AM - 5 PM EST) involves managing partner payments, consolidating corporate expenses, preparing sales tax data, and supporting accounting functions. You will need strong analytical skills, proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel, and a detail-oriented approach. Success in this role means accurate partner payouts, effective expense management, tax compliance, and insightful financial reporting. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of finance/accounting experience and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• Possess 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, with a background in managing partner/vendor payments preferred
• Be highly organized with strong attention to detail, able to manage complex deal terms and ensure accuracy in financial transactions
• Be proficient in Google Sheets and Excel, with experience in advanced spreadsheet functions and data management
• Have effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate financial information clearly
• Possess strong analytical abilities with experience in financial analysis and reporting

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute payments to over 400 restaurant & retail merchants, ensuring accuracy and timeliness according to each merchant’s bespoke deal terms, timing, & pricing
• Oversee and consolidate corporate card expenses, ensuring proper categorization and alignment with budget allocations
• Prepare and vet transactional CSV uploads to be uploaded into TaxJar each month, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with each state our merchants operate in
• Support general accounting tasks, including reconciliation of accounts, tracking of financial transactions, and ensuring financial records are accurate and up-to-date
• Utilize Google Sheets and Excel for financial tracking, data analysis, and reporting, ensuring both data integrity and accuracy
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, identifying trends and providing insights to support business decisions

Preferred Qualifications

Have familiarity with sales tax processes; specific experience with TaxJar is highly preferred
