Summary

The job description is for a finance professional to support the day-to-day accounting operations of Mamo, a fintech startup. The role involves assisting with various aspects of accounting and reporting, developing and improving accounting processes, and working cross-functionally with other teams.

Requirements

• University student with finance, accounting, business, or quantitative background, or a fresh graduate seeking a paid internship
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to bring a solution-focused creative approach to work
• Analytical skills and meticulous eye for details
• Strategic, creative, and self-starter
• Mastery of Google Sheets with basic automation skills
• Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written, is a must

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the CFO and Financial Accountant to support in their day-to-day work
• Assist with various aspects of our accounting and reporting process including support with general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
• Regular review of accounting records to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our books and records
• Work cross-functionally with other teams to initiate and implement proper accounting treatment of new product launches and new or unique transactions
• Contribute to the preparation of internal management reports pertaining to revenue, cost of revenue, operating expenses, and cash flows
• Assist and participate in internal and external financial audits

Preferred Qualifications

Prior internship/articleship experience with a top audit and accounting firm, or high-growth startups is a plus
