Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience in financial accounting, ideally within the media, entertainment, or broadcasting sectors
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft D365) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
  • Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AAS) and financial reporting principles
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide insights from financial data
  • Clear communication skills, able to explain complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage the General Ledger to ensure proper financial transactions in line with Australian Accounting Standards (AAS)
  • Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations. Collaborate with finance teams for accurate reporting
  • Assist in preparing documentation for external audits, ensuring compliance with requirements
  • Implement strong internal controls and identify areas for process improvement in accounting systems and reporting
  • Provide analysis of financial performance, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and offer variance explanations
  • Work closely with divisional Business Partnering finance teams and external auditors to ensure accurate financial data and effective decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA/CA (or equivalent) qualification or in progress
  • Experience in a group finance function
