Summary

As part of a growing Finance team, you'll participate in maintaining detailed records for payroll, cash balances, credit card reconciliations, accounts payable, and suppliers' invoices.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of working experience in an accounting environment
  • CPA designation or pursuing designation
  • Working knowledge of accounting and reporting month-end cycles
  • Payroll knowledge and experience and experience with A/P and A/R
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - intermediate to advanced Word and Excel skills
  • Must be able to work under assigned deadlines
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Financial Controller on preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for greater efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Build process documentation to be used within the finance team and broader company
  • Opportunity to collaborate with other departments to improve finance-related operations, including quote-to-cash process, departmental reporting, product-related reconciliations, GL structure, metrics tracking, etc
  • Assist with the year-end audit, annual tax filings, and other regulatory requirements
  • Cash balancing and credit card reconciliations
  • Accounts Payable: Responsible for entering and processing invoices and payments
  • Responsible for salaried payroll administration; entering employee information and preparing payroll file for the payroll processor and Human Resource functions are in compliance with company and government policies
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all payroll and related files; all suppliers' invoices and related files
  • Respond to inquiries from employees, managers, customers and suppliers
  • Prepares month-end journal entries (ex: sales journal, cash receipts, cash payments, accounts payable adjustments, accruals, and all related entries)
  • Ad hoc reporting when necessary
  • Upholding accounting procedures and assisting with new procedures as required
