Summary

The Controller at Ready Set is responsible for all aspects of financial management, including leading the internal accounting team, managing day-to-day operational needs, working with tax accountants, assisting management with financial reporting, reviewing monthly financial statements, supervising accounting vendors, managing and processing payroll, working with external accountants, responding to inquiries regarding financial matters, defining, implementing, and monitoring internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures, and proposing initiatives for efficiency and profitability.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience using QBO and bill.com
  • Experience in establishing and successfully implementing internal controls, accounting policies, and financial systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead our internal accounting team
  • Manage 4 current members and redesign the team as necessary
  • Oversee day-to-day operational needs, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense management, vendor management, and payroll processes
  • Work with tax accountants on tax preparation and planning
  • Assist management with financial reporting including job costing and profitability by client and Business unit
  • Review monthly financial statements with accounting team and management
  • Supervise accounting vendors
  • Monitor company’s accounts receivable process including collections and communicating with the accounting team regarding the set-up of the client in QBO
  • Execute and improve financial model to forecast and track financial performance
  • Establish systems and processes in partnership with Production, Operations, Logistics and other departments to ensure timely and efficient closes
  • Manage and process payroll utilizing Gusto (includes processing of payments for foreign consultants)
  • Work with external accountants to ensure timely closing and reporting
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial matters
  • Define, implement, and monitor internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
  • Propose and execute initiatives to detect opportunities for efficiency and profitability, challenging the status quo
