Financial Planning & Analysis Lead

Summary

The job is for a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) professional at Institute of Free Technology, a tech startup studio. The role involves developing FP&A functions, establishing reporting and forecasting cadence, building financial models, and providing analytical support to projects and leadership team.

Requirements

• The ability to develop trusted working relationships with highly technical stakeholders
• Proven experience creating robust, scalable financial models
• The ability to present and communicate data to non-financial stakeholders
• Strong Python development skills and knowledge/experience of software development workflows and tooling (e.g. Markdown, Git)
• A collaborative mindset
• Able to work effectively both remotely and asynchronously
• Experience in, and interest in, blockchain technology

Responsibilities

• Work with the CFO to develop and implement a forward-looking FP&A function
• Establish and manage a regular reporting, forecasting and scenario planning cadence
• Work with the CFO and other senior leaders to develop and iterate budgeting and capital allocation process
• Build and maintain sophisticated, scalable financial models
• Act as a trusted partner to project teams, helping them understand financial variances, identify improvement levers, and make data-driven decisions
• Provide analytical support for evaluating the profitability and strategic value of current and potential future projects within the portfolio

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience setting up or substantially developing an FP&A function in an early-stage company
• A professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, etc)
• Experience managing and developing a small team
