Summary
Join Brakes as a Fleet Engineering Business Partner and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on vehicle repair costs. You will be a key support for vehicle design and new build delivery, coaching depot colleagues to enhance fleet efficiency and compliance. This role requires collaboration with various teams and suppliers, offering a remote base with occasional UK travel. The ideal candidate possesses extensive fleet management experience, relevant qualifications, and strong Microsoft Office skills. Requirements
- Extensive background within Fleet Management and Operations in a high volume, fast paced environment
- Certificate of Competence in Road Transport Operations
- Mechanical Engineering qualification
- NEBOSH/Health & Safety qualification
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Project, Word and Excel
- Full Cat B licence
- Fleet Engineering HNC or HND
Responsibilities
- Cost control and management of VOR
- Subject matter expert in fleet maintenance and maintenance cost control
- Operate at a senior level within the Supply Chain leadership team supporting predominantly the operation, dealing with insurance companies, enforcing bodies, trade bodies and major suppliers
- Have a strong focus on cost management across the whole vehicle operational scope (inc, fleet mix, use, repair, and maintenance)
- Ensure industry leading governance measures are in place to protect the organisation from adverse activity from the relevant enforcing authorities (Police, DVSA, Traffic Commissioner)
- Ensure vehicle maintenance regimes are in place to satisfy legal obligations, manufacturers requirements and provide a reliable and safe operating fleet
- Support the Operations teams with robust cost management systems and processes
- Link the Fleet Strategy to the business, ensuring key stakeholders and customers get a high-quality service
- Support the delivery of new build programs in line with business requirements, including fleet mix & implementation
- Identify cost and efficiency improvements for both new an existing fleet
- Support the National Fleet Manager
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership of appropriate professional body (Society of Operation Engineers, Institute of Road Transport Engineers)
- Previous management/supervisory experience
