Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in process engineering, ideally within a food manufacturing or packaging environment - preferably in meat, pet food, or ready to eat food development or manufacturing
  • 3 years of experience managing multiple projects in a manufacturing or development environment
  • Comfortable with travel- up to 50%
  • Hands-on experience with packaging materials and technologies
  • Strong background in process optimization, lean manufacturing, and root cause analysis
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Intellectual curiosity, innovation, and initiative
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience working cross-functionally to drive results
  • Passionate about Ollie’s mission and eager to apply your skills to improve the lives of pets and their parents

Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and troubleshoot production processes to ensure efficiency, reliability, and quality within food safety standards
  • Develop and improve packaging processes that align with Ollie’s sustainability and quality objectives
  • Collaborate with FSQA, R&D, and packaging engineering to implement and test new packaging materials and technologies
  • Conduct process analyses and manage process improvements, identifying and implementing cost-saving and quality-enhancing opportunities
  • Oversee equipment installation, validation, and maintenance for both processing and packaging lines, ensuring they meet regulatory and operational standards
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, driving innovation and efficiency in both processing and packaging
  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors on material specifications, sourcing, and ensuring consistent quality and manufacturing standards
  • Develop training materials and provide technical support to production teams
  • Travel between kitchens, fulfillment centers, and external partners to verify procedures for in spec manufacturing, storage, and handling of products
  • Summarize process and packaging development activities and results and effectively transfer this knowledge to external personnel including the training of manufacturing technicians
