FP&A Associate

Summary

The job is for a FP&A analyst in SoundCloud's NYC Finance team to enhance budget-to-actuals reporting, contribute to short-term financial planning, and drive business strategy by monitoring financial trends and conducting ad-hoc financial analyses. The candidate should have 1+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field, and proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools, and databases.

Requirements

• 1+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is a plus
• Expert in Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas)
• Knowledge or experience in financial modeling of a high-growth technology company
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for different audiences
• Data-driven and highly curious about how and why trends move month-to-month

Responsibilities

• Forecast, track, and explain monthly revenue movements across our subscription and ad businesses
• Partner with key finance leads to aggregate financial and non-financial KPIs for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
• Improve financial models for quicker and more automated forecasts
• Assist the team in defining, developing, and maintaining customer lifetime value calculations
• Monitor and assist with price testing and modeling of price testing impact
• Leverage Oracle Fusion (ERP system) and reporting systems to improve internal monthly management reporting
• Assist in the preparation of fiscal year revenue budgets across our subscription and ad businesses
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to support various financial functions and ensure data quality, consistency, and alignment
• Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making for the organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Databases and Data Analysis (SQL, statistics, etc.) are a plus
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI are a plus
• Passion for music and interest in understanding user behavior and preferences in the music domain
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
