Freight Audit & Payment Accountant

Summary

Join our team as a Freight Audit & Payment Accountant and support our logistics and transportation team. You will manage freight payment and audit processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Familiarity with 3GTMS and TriumphPay is a plus. Responsibilities include auditing and processing freight bills, optimizing shipping operations using 3GTMS, managing carrier relationships, implementing TriumphPay, collaborating with IT, developing internal controls, analyzing transportation costs, providing team support, and preparing management reports. A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field is required. Experience in freight audit and payment processes, along with strong analytical and organizational skills, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the freight audit and payment process, ensuring all freight bills are accurately audited, processed, and paid in a timely manner
• Support the utilization of 3GTMS to optimize shipping operations and ensure data accuracy in the transportation management system
• Aid in managing relationships with carriers and vendors, assisting in compliance with contracts and resolving payment discrepancies
• Contribute to the implementation and utilization of TriumphPay to streamline payment processes and improve transaction transparency
• Collaborate with IT and senior team members to address any system issues, ensuring smooth operation of software tools
• Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards
• Participate in analyzing transportation and freight cost data to identify trends, savings opportunities, and efficiency improvements
• Provide support to the team on the use of transportation management and payment systems
• Assist in preparing regular reports for management on freight payment trends, issues, and performance metrics

Preferred Qualifications

• +2 years of experience in a related field, with exposure to freight audit and payment processes being a plus
• Familiarity with software such as 3GTMS and TriumphPay is desirable
