Summary

Short Story is a fast-growing startup creating a personal styling service for petite women. They are looking for experienced Frontend Engineers to join their engineering team, where the engineer will design, develop, and maintain frontend systems. The role involves developing responsive web applications using NextJS, ReactJS, and React-Query, collaborating with cross-functional teams, A/B testing designs, providing technical guidance, implementing designs using Tailwind CSS, deploying and managing applications on Netlify, working closely with designers using Figma, and more. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development using ReactJS and related technologies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development using ReactJS and related technologies
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with a deep understanding of modern web standards and best practices
  • Extensive experience with NextJS, ReactJS, Typescript, and a proven track record of building scalable and maintainable applications
  • Familiarity with Tailwind CSS and experience in creating responsive and visually appealing user interfaces
  • Solid understanding of Git, Github, and experience with collaborative development workflows
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes, preferably using Github Actions and Netlify
  • Ability to work with Figma and translate design mockups into functional web components

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality and responsive web applications using NextJS, ReactJS, and React-Query
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend engineers, to understand requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions
  • A/B Test various designs to optimize user experience
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and interns, promoting best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning
  • Actively participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards
  • Implement designs using Tailwind CSS, ensuring compatibility across various devices and browsers
  • Deploy and manage applications on Netlify, ensuring smooth and reliable deployments
  • Work closely with designers, using Figma to translate design mockups into pixel-perfect, interactive user interfaces

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) techniques
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress
