Summary

Join rockITdata, a veteran, minority, and woman-owned small business, as a Junior/Mid Level Software Engineer. You will provide 24/7 application support for a scheduling product impacting millions. Responsibilities include monitoring application performance, triaging issues, code revision, and documentation. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years of SDLC experience, and proficiency in React, Typescript, and Java Web Services. Preferred qualifications include experience with Jira, GitHub, and AWS. The position involves rotating 12-hour shifts (8 pm - 8 am).

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree or higher (4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
  • 2+ years' experience with the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Experience with REACT, Typescript, and Java Web Services
  • Excellent knowledge of software development and user interface web application
  • An ability to understand front-end usersโ€™ requirements and a problem-solving attitude

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring for tickets and application performance
  • Triaging / responding to issues
  • Revise, update, refactor and debug code
  • Improve existing software
  • Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Jira, GitHub, Bitbucket, Kubernetes, AWS Cloud Environments
  • VA or other Federal Government experience
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent team skills
  • Has high standards, results oriented, and a customer-centric attitude
