Summary
Join Calendly's Engineering team as a Staff Full Stack Engineer and contribute to the development of a best-in-class contact management and scheduling experience. You will play a key role in architectural design, technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and planning and execution of critical initiatives. Leverage your expertise in distributed systems, cloud computing, and web development technologies like Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Node, TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL. Requirements
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud computing
- Experience driving zero-to-one development of key technical capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex systems to identify root causes and implement effective mitigations and resolutions
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and propose new solutions or improvements that align with organizational goals
- Experience with Typescript and Node or a comparable web-app development framework
- Strong web frontend skills with experience utilizing React for client-side application development, and prior experience working with microfrontend architectures
- Availability for participation in on-call rotation, ensuring prompt and effective responses to business-critical alerts outside of regular working hours
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time
Responsibilities
- Have strong opinions on shaping our technical strategy and North Star Architecture as well as guiding the design and implementation of services and components within your area
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and decision making to enable engineering teams to deliver the right solutions and outcomes
- Work closely with product, design, engineering, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Acting as a hands-on, key contributor on critical βBig Rockβ initiatives, delivering high output with high quality; participating in planning to define scope, milestones, and work breakdown in a manner that promotes incremental delivery and high impact
- Developing and articulating the vision for a service and its capabilities, defining its strategic value, and overseeing its evolution to meet future demands and enhance our overall platform
