Full Stack Software Engineer

Summary

Join Abnormal Security as a Full Stack Software Engineer on the Premium Email Products (PEP) team, responsible for building and operating AI Security Mailbox and Search & Respond products. This role involves designing and executing software projects, providing guidance to junior team members, collaborating with other teams, and contributing to knowledge sharing. The ideal candidate will have experience working across the entire stack, with expertise in both frontend and backend development, and a strong understanding of AI Developer tools.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field
• 3+ years of industry experience designing & building full stack software applications
• Expert in React, Redux, JS/Typescript
• Intermediate+ Python and/or Go skills
• Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks
• Open to following pre-established guidelines, coding practices and conventions
• Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
• You’re growth driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time

Responsibilities

• Design and execute software projects which are critical to Abnormal’s success with a group of engineers through conception, design, implementation, launch & operation
• Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team
• Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and Go-To-Market teams to implement, verify, and iterate on the issues & requests coming from our customers
• Raise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team and participating in professional development activities
• Hit the ground running, contributing to the teamwork in the first two weeks
• You’re able to leverage AI Developer tools such as Copilot or Cursor in your daily workflow

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with our stack: AWS, K8s, Django, Postgres/MySQL, Prometheus
• Familiarity with AWS services and deployment practices
• Knowledge of containerization using Docker or similar technologies
• Experience with distributed systems
