Summary

Join Abnormal Security as a Fullstack Software Engineer on the Premium Email Products (PEP) team, building and operating AI Security Mailbox and Search & Respond products. You will design and execute software projects, mentor junior team members, collaborate with various teams, and raise engineering standards. The ideal candidate possesses extensive full-stack experience, expertise in React, Redux, JS/Typescript, and Python/Go, and a strong understanding of software development lifecycle. The role requires experience building and operating features, adhering to coding practices, and working effectively in distributed teams. Leveraging AI developer tools is also expected. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or other related engineering field
  • 3+ years of industry experience designing & building fullstack software applications
  • Expert in React, Redux, JS/Typescript
  • Intermediate+ Python and/or Go skills
  • Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks
  • Open to following pre-established guidelines, coding practices, and conventions
  • Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
  • You’re growth-driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time
  • You’re able to leverage AI Developer tools such as Copilot, Claude, or Cursor in your daily workflow

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute software projects that are crucial to Abnormal’s success with a team of engineers, through conception, design, implementation, launch, and operation
  • Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team
  • Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and Go-ToMarket teams to implement, verify, and iterate on issues and requests from our customers
  • Raise the standard of excellence in engineering by actively sharing knowledge within the team and engaging in professional development activities
  • Hit the ground running by contributing to the team's work within the first two weeks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with our stack: AWS, K8s, Django, Postgres/MySQL, Prometheus
  • Familiarity with AWS services and deployment practices
  • Experience working with LLM-powered tools and AI assistants
  • Knowledge of containerization
  • Experience with distributed systems
