Summary

Join CareRev as a Staff Software Engineer and contribute to building and maintaining features across the stack (Rails, React). You will play a key role in setting the technical direction, guiding architectural decisions, and driving critical projects. Collaborate closely with product and design teams to create intuitive and performant user experiences. Take ownership of features from architecture to deployment and monitoring. Expand and maintain Rails-based APIs and backend services, and improve developer experience by contributing to tooling and CI/CD workflows. Apply product thinking to define what and why, not just how. This is a fully remote position offering flexibility and a competitive compensation package.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software development, preferably in a user-facing product context
  • Experience building a multi-sided marketplace
  • 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience with React or other similar front-end frameworks
  • Experience working closely across a variety of teams, including product management, design, and engineering
  • Deep understanding and application of relational databases such as PostgreSQL

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain features across the stack ( Rails, React )
  • Be a part of setting the technical direction for the team, guiding architectural decisions and driving critical projects
  • Work closely with product and design to create intuitive and performant experiences
  • Own features end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring
  • Expand and maintain Rails-based APIs and backend services
  • Improve developer experience by contributing to tooling and CI/CD workflows
  • Bring product thinking to your work; help define what and why , not just how

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, and performance monitoring tools
  • Comfort working across the stack, from frontend polish to backend reliability
  • Experience integrating with external systems
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience building front-end applications in Elm
  • Experience building internal applications through platforms such as Retool
