Summary

Join Azumo as a Senior Engineer and work remotely from Latin America in the EST/PST time zone. Collaborate with a team of engineers on SaaS and big data computing projects. As a key member of the web team, you will enhance existing code, architect applications, integrate with third-party APIs, and implement the front-end build and deployment pipeline. You will design the application framework, including components, authentication, and error handling. This role requires strong JavaScript skills and experience with React, Node, and GraphQL. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, passionate about problem-solving, and enjoy delivering well-factored and tested applications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the field of software development
  • Solid experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
  • 3+ years experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and front-end coding skills
  • 3+ years experience in React and GraphQL each
  • Self-driven and motivated, with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem solving

Responsibilities

  • Enhance existing Typescript and JavaScript code-base
  • Architect app and collaborate with the team to integrate with 3rd party APIs and services
  • Design the overall application framework, including component hierarchy, authentication, error handling, etc
  • Implement the front-end build, deploy and CI pipeline
  • Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions
  • Design client-side and server-side architecture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python)
  • Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
  • BS or Master's degree in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent experience
  • Some experience with backend development (Java or Node.js)
  • Prior experience with building RESTful web services
  • Experience writing SQL and using NoSQL databases
  • Experience with automated testing (TDD, mocking, unit/functional/integration)
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design
  • An analytical mind
  • Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or relevant field
