Fullstack Software Engineer

Summary

The job description is for a Backend Engineer role at Haus, a decision science platform startup. The role focuses on Geolift and Reporting efforts to develop products that enhance user experience, reduce manual effort, and provide valuable insights. The candidate is expected to have 5+ years of experience in building APIs & web applications, proficiency in React, OOP languages like Python or TS, and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience building APIs & web applications (Backend Engineer, Frontend engineer, or similar)
• Proficient in React
• Proficient in at least one OOP language: Python, TS, Scala, Golang, Java
• Care deeply about well designed & well documented APIs
• Experience working in a cloud environment
• Experience with relational databases like SQL
• Experience as a tech lead
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain effective APIs to support customer’s insights
• Build and maintain delightful user experiences on those APIs
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements using a variety of tools
• Help build a growing engineering organization as an early leader
• Participate in an on-call rotation
• Build and tweak monitoring tools to understand feature viability in the wild
• Own the features you build end to end

Preferred Qualifications

• Earlier stage startup experience
• Experience with Flask or other python web frameworks
• Experience with React-Query, XState for frontend state management
