Fullstack Software Engineer II

Summary

Join Quorum, a leading provider of workflow software for government affairs professionals, as a FullStack Software Engineer. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of data scrapers and spiders, ensuring the efficient and accurate collection of data from online sources. Requirements

• 3+ years of work experience at a company that produces software for end users as it primary function
• Professional experience in JavaScript and FE technologies like React (must)
• Professional experience writing application code in backend languages like Python, .Net, Java, Go or Node.js
• Professional experience with any relational database such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or Oracle
• Familiarity with SQL queries and performant use of Object Relational Mapping frameworks like Django
• Not only the care about the quality of code you write but also has a strong desire to build skills of those around through code review and mentorship
• Care deeply about the code you write and either have significant technical skills solving real-world problems or the drive to quickly develop them
• An interest in learning new development languages and platforms used by the wider team
• A highly-motivated self-starter who wants to make valuable contributions to a team from day 1
• An engaged learner—you want to expand your skills, get your hands dirty, and find solutions to challenging problems that require tradeoffs

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data scrapers and spiders, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and reliable collection of data from online sources in line with agreed-upon SLAs with clients
• Proactively uphold high data quality standards
• Collaborate with team members to address performance and scalability concerns
• Continuously research and adopt best practices in web scraping and data engineering
• Ship new code to production
• Write code at several levels of the stack, from infrastructure to the API to the UI
• Take ownership of an entire set of features and make decisions that impact many clients
• Help guide our team as we make broad technical decisions impacting our stack, our products, and the growth of the entire company
