You will collaborate with a team to conceptualize, prototype, and refine gameplay systems within a blockchain-based economy. Responsibilities include developing engaging gameplay, creating game concepts and documentation, collaborating with other teams, balancing game features for player engagement, facilitating playtests, and exploring blockchain integration. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of game design experience, a strong understanding of gameplay mechanics, and proficiency in design tools. A passion for creating engaging player experiences and knowledge of blockchain technology are also desired.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in game design, preferably with casual or mobile games
• Strong understanding of core gameplay mechanics and system design
• Passion for creating fun and engaging player experiences
• Knowledge of blockchain or a strong curiosity to learn about its potential in gaming
• Proficient in tools like Figma, Miro, or other design and documentation tools
• Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging gameplay systems tailored to the CryptoKitties brand while balancing in-game and token-based economies to ensure sustainable player engagement and growth
• Create game concepts, user flows, and documentation that communicate ideas effectively to the development team
• Collaborate with artists, engineers, and product managers to bring ideas to life
• Balance fun and challenge in game features, ensuring high player engagement and retention
• Facilitate playtests and analyze player behavior to identify areas for improvement in both gameplay and the in-game economy, iterating on designs based on insights
• Explore creative ways to integrate blockchain technology into gameplay
• Assist in developing live events and feature updates that keep players excited and engaged
