Summary

Join Gameloft Bucharest as a Senior Game Designer and contribute to an unannounced PC/console title. Lead design efforts, collaborate with various teams, and design gameplay mechanics, systems, levels, and player progression. Ensure successful implementation of game design concepts and maintain strong communication with other teams. This role offers the opportunity to build an innovative gaming experience for millions of players. You will also mentor junior and mid-level designers. The position requires considerable professional game design experience, including at least one shipped title.

Requirements

  • Considerable professional game design experience – including at least one shipped title
  • Proactive, enthusiastic team player comfortable working within a fast-moving, multi-disciplinary team
  • Passionate about games, design, and technology - with a forward-thinking approach
  • Fast prototyping skills and openness to numerous iterations
  • Good knowledge of Unreal Engine Blueprint system
  • Excellent organizational skills and methodology
  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation specific to any of the teams involved in the process
  • Ability to communicate feedback to development teams
  • Good communication skills and able to work in a team

Responsibilities

  • Show great initiative and ownership over all design aspects and the overall execution of the game vision
  • Design fun and immersive gameplay mechanics, systems, and features to execute the game vision through the full cycle of production from concept to final stage
  • Maintain strong communication with Creative, Art, and Programming teams to align all the elements into a common high-quality vision for the game
  • Understand the specific considerations of designing for PC and console platforms. Ensure best practices are communicated and adhered to in the implementation of accessible gameplay mechanics and progression loops
  • Documentation, script writing, level design, data entry, and game balancing
  • Review deliverables (eg. design documents, the game builds) and be able to provide considered, constructive and prioritized feedback
  • Present and promote design solutions effectively to peers and management
  • Working in the Engine to prototype / improve various features
  • Engage in ideation processes under constraints (time, IP, game type)
  • Produce game pitches/presentations for new and existing IPs for a multi-disciplinary production team
  • Mentor junior and mid-level members of the Design team

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of other Unreal Engine subsystems is a plus (animation graphs, materials, AI, UMG, Unreal Engine replication for multiplayer etc)
