Geospatial Data Operations Specialist, Remote - United States

Summary

The job is for a 6-month Geospatial Data Operations Specialist at onX, a digital outdoor navigation company. The role involves quality control checks on spatial data and collaborating with other team members to maintain high standards of data quality. The position can be performed remotely or from one of the company's offices in Montana or various US locations known as 'Basecamps'.

Requirements

• Education: Certificate, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geospatial Analysis, or a closely related field
• At least 6 months of professional GIS experience, or completed relevant GIS coursework, or experience as a contributor to OSM open-source communities
• Experience with desktop Geospatial software such as QGIS or ArcMap

Responsibilities

• Conducting quality control checks on spatial data within a map editing environment to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Communicating effectively with team leads to address and resolve any issues
• Critically analyzing existing processes and providing suggestions for improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Providing support for ad hoc data processing needs as they arise
• Collaborating with other members of the Data Operations team, including experienced geospatial professionals, to share duties and maintain high standards of data quality
