Summary
Join Shatterproof as a Gift Processing Specialist and play a vital role in efficiently and accurately processing donations. You will be responsible for recording, acknowledging, and allocating gifts in the Salesforce database. This position involves data entry, financial reconciliation, and communication with the development team to ensure a positive donor experience. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce. While currently remote, this position may transition to a hybrid model in the future. A successful background check is required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Basic understanding of financial processes and reconciliation
- Strong communication skills and a desire to work with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive donor information
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented
- Must complete a successful background check
Responsibilities
- Accurately and timely record all donations, including checks, credit card payments, wire transfers, and ACH payments into donor database (Salesforce)
- Review and update donor information, donation details, and payment data on the donorโs record
- Manage central donations inbox and processing daily donor inquiries and gift notifications
- Reconcile donation data with financial records to ensure accuracy, and that gifts are properly coded and allocated to the correct accounts, funds, or projects
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports detailing incoming donations for management and accounting purposes
- Generate and send timely, accurate thank-you letters, receipts, and acknowledgments to donors
- Ensure compliance with legal and tax requirements for donor receipts and reporting
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and security for donor information
- Communicate with various development teams in Salesforce to notify them of daily gift receipts
- Swiftly resolve any issues or discrepancies related to their gifts or donation processing
- Assist in preparing and organizing donation-related documents for audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements
- Participate in regular training to stay current with changes in donation processing systems, compliance regulations, and industry best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Associateโs degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred
- Prior experience in gift processing, accounting, or nonprofit fundraising is a plus
- Experience with Salesforce a plus
